Woodside Primary School takes enrolments for students in Foundation (Prep) to Grade 6 throughout the year as we understand that you may be looking for a school for your child at times other than the start of the school year.

We encourage you to enrol your child in July for the following year.  Please note that in order to be eligible to begin school, your child must turn 5 by April 30 in the year that they start school.  Please go to the Starting Primary School Guide website for further information about enrolling in state government schools.


Please also contact the school if you would like to arrange a visit and tour as we would love to show you around our wonderful school.  When you visit we can provide you with a full information pack that includes everything you need to know and everything you need to get started with enrolling your child.

Enrolment Process

Information on how to find, enrol, and start a child in your care at a school in Victoria is available on the Victorian government website.

To enrol your child at our school:

  1. download and complete the enrolment form

  2. collate the required documents outlined below

  3. return the completed form, along with the required documents, in person or via email to

  • emergency contact details

  • health information about your child (such as allergies or illnesses they need to manage)

  • other legal orders relating to your child and their welfare (if any)


School zones

Our school zone is available on which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Our school also has additional capacity available to welcome students who are outside of our school zone.

The Department provides guidance through the Enrolment: Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
