Special Programmes

At Woodside Primary we have many Special Programmes to cater for the needs and interests of EVERY child.  Below are just a few running in the past year.

One to One Intervention  Anne Morris takes students who need a little extra help for one to one intervention.  She helps students with their reading, writing or even maths.  Whatever your child needs.

Grease Monkeys  A innovative engagement programme aimed primarily at middle years boys.  As is usual at Woodside, many of the girls have joined in the fun as well!  Students have enjoyed pulling many items apart and restoring an old Victa mower.  One of our talented parents, Ron Bragg has helped out.

Sewn Up  Aimed at those students who enjoy making craft items including teddy bears!  You should see the fantastic bears they made.

Tuned In  A special music programme aimed at our talented young musicians.  Woodside has employed a specialist music teacher to implement this exciting programme.

Woodwork  As part of our Technology programme, students have the chance to make interesting projects with wood.  Our 'Blue Wren door stoppers' won many prizes at the Yarram Show.

Scrapit  A lunchtime scrap booking class led by a team of talented parents and friends.  Students produce some amazing results using photographs brought from home.

Hammer & Tong  A lunchtime activity programme where students are able to hand craft actual aboriginal artefacts.  Students learn firsthand how these items were constructed and decorate traditionally.

You Can Do It!  This is a cluster based initiative aimed at promoting resilience, achievement and social-emotional-behavioural well-being.  Four foundations reinforced in this program are; 'Getting Along', 'Organisation', 'Persistence' & 'Confidence'.  For more information visit the You Can Do It! website.  www.youcandoiteducation.com
